Last month, I reported the presence of two files containing blobs in Linux-libre: https://www.fsfla.org/pipermail/linux-libre/2021-August/003439.html (scroll down to the section about nonfree code). The files are arch/powerpc/platforms/8xx/micropatch.c and drivers/media/i2c/vs6624.c, and the deblob scripts have since been updated to deblob these files. However, Trisquel is still using the old deblob scripts so these blobs are still present.
A new kernel version has been built, linux_4.15.0-159.167+9.0trisquel9.dsc
They show come in the following update, please confirm they are clean.
In deblob-5.3, I think you should add back the lines that remove SMC_UCODE_PATCH from Kconfig, because it is present in 5.3.
That said, I can confirm that the linux package is now clean.
Yeah, i restored the lines locally but forgot to push those changes before merge.
They are now restored, cheers!
What about linux-hwe-5.8 in nabia?
You pushed the changes on those,
https://gitlab.trisquel.org/trisquel/package-helpers/-/commit/f2c0805eb1714b8c72c6d0d82ae3583150780139
And they are building fine.
There's no new version of linux-hwe-5.8 in the repo. I think this is because I pushed both package helpers in a single merge request.
Interesting, I was sure it was build as a test at least, but seems we are behind in nabia kernels.
I'll review that and follow the output, thanks for the heads up.
If you want we can follow nabias status on the issue tracker at gitlab.
Cheers!
