boot delayed by 2 minutes if /etc/network/interface is populated

Hi, during boot under briganta I have:
Waiting for network configuration...
Waiting up to 60 more seconds for network configuration...
But only if I modified /etc/network/interfaces.

I closed the bugreport because it was made for Briganta (Trisquel 5.5, which is not maintained anymore).

As the bug tracking system requires a version I've added 6.0 as 5.5 is not present.
