Are there easily measurable images of the earth with Trisquel Flidas?

I'm using Trisquel since about 18 months and I have used Trisquel Flidas almost exclusively during these last 7 months.
One of the things I mostly miss of my old operating systems is that with them I could use Google Earth with its ruler that allowed me to measure, almost to the inch, the distance between two points of the images it showed.
Is there any Trisquel Flidas compatible application that allows users to do the same?
Thank you in advance.

I have never tried to do this, but the first thing that come to mind
which might have this feature is Marble, which is in Trisquel's
repository.

When you say image do you mean something like a .jpg .png etc? If this is the case then something like GIMP (I believe Trisquel preinstalls this) to measure using "Shift+M" would allow you to measure the image.

If you are talking about measuring the distance between two areas on the globe, then I don't know an alternative to Google Maps that exists.

@ chaosmonk & @Beko
Thank you for your answers.
Marble seems to be exactly what I'm looking for.
I would like to pay you back for your help but I'm only an old unprosperous IT student who is struggling to get out of digital illiteracy with the burden of little time and a flat learning curve.
Is there anything you believe I can do for you?

Great, I'm glad it's working for you.

I started out not knowing any of this stuff either. I'm still learning,
but after a few years, I now know enough that I can help other people
who are where I was back then. In a few years, you will too. For now,
just keep learning, and keep asking for help when you need it. That's
what this forum is for.

Thank you for your encouraging words.
