Backintime: Error when I try to update snapshot path 'com.ubuntu.DeviceDriver.PermissionDeniedByPolicy: net.launchpad....'

In Backintime GUI, when I click on the folder icon under 'Where to save snapshots' in the 'General' of Main Profile[3], an error message shows in small window:
com.ubuntu.DeviceDriver.PermissionDeniedByPolicy: net.launchpad.backintime.UdevRuleSave
I looked up this error message in Backintime's repository and saw that the error is reported[1] - by someone using the distribution Devian. In response to this report, one of BiT's maintainers suggests that this error should be helpful to the the maintainers of the distribution[2]. (I am wondering: is BiT printing this error because it is trying to fetch something as Ubuntu while it is running on Trisquel?)
I also posted on BiT's mailing list.
I am also wondering if anyone else got the same error.
$ journalctl --since "30 minute ago" | grep -i backintime

Sep 22 10:29:35 redacted python3[2345]: backintime-qt (redacted/1): ERROR: com.ubuntu.DeviceDriver.PermissionDeniedByPolicy: net.launchpad.backintime.UdevRuleSave
There is a workaround: I was able to edit the configuration of BiT by editing the file ~/.config/backintime/config directly.

[3] the name of BiT's snapshot destination folder was automatically appended by '1' somehow a long time ago after restoring.
