Hi, I've tried apertium as a free alternative to google translation. When I translate one word only one answer is given. Is there a way to make apertium show
more results or is there a better free software than apertium?

Seems to me you need a dictionary. Goldendict is a great one.

Of course. I have them on my computer. Am at work now, but if you throw me a mail I will reply to yours attaching the dictionaries.

Hi! On this web page you can get many dictionaries to install on Goldendict (Spanish, English, English-Spanish, etc.): http://kobo.lectoreselectronicos.com/subweb/recopilacion.html

Last I checked out services using free code for translation, the options were those listed here:
https://www.coactivate.org/projects/disintermedia/leaving-the-googleverse

... under "Automated Human Language Translation"
