Bookmarking from Abrowser's address bar

Whenever I click and drag an address in Abrowser in order to bookmark it, the cursor is in fact dragging a large and almost empty rectangle in which the complete address is hardly filling the very first line. That rectangle being opaque, it does not make it easy to navigate the bookmark folders and land the said bookmark in the proper place.

Is there a setting to tell Abrowser to skip that cumbersome rectangle and use the favicon only?

Don't grab in the middle of the URL, instead grab the little lock icon to the left of the URL. Then when you take it to the bookmark folder you'll see an icon to the left of the mouse pointer that will make it easier to locate.

My bad - the answer was somehow hidden in the question.

I was indeed using that small lock icon to the left of the address, but it is also possible to bookmark a page from the tab itself, where the favicon sits. The small text icon that follows the pointer is then much easier to handle.

The behavior when using the small lock seems to be different in your settings and in mine, though. I am suspecting the dark theme I am using to be the cause. Are you also using a dark theme? I would guess not.

I get the opposite effect. If I grab the lock I get the icon and small text. If I grab from the tab, I get the little blank box. You are right, probably something to do with theme, I have not ever changed the theme from its original ugly pasty whitish-gray.

I see, thanks for your feedback. I tried to select the default Trisquel theme, and it felt colder than the current dark theme. When I switched back, it felt like getting back inside after a winter stroll.

However, the drag and drop bookmarking behavior was the same. The only noticeable differences were the background color in the large rectangle box when grabbing from the lock icon, and a slightly different icon when grabbing from the tab.

So I guess I'll stick to grabbing from the tab, and to the dark theme.
