CD isn't detected in Media

Hi Everyone,
I have Trisquel 5.5 and am trying to install a game, but the CD isn't detected by it. Does anyone know how to scan for devices or find the drive's actual directory?
Thank You
The ISO should be automatically mounted in a subdirectory of /media.
I have already checked /media, /dev/cdrom, and /mnt/cdrom. Nothing is there.
If anyone can post how to detect/find the actual drive and mount it, please do.
Thanks
The drive should be /dev/sr0. You can take a look at the output of 'dmesg' to see what happens once you insert a CD. There may be a clue.
I have tried to change to /dev/sr0 but it says that sr0 is not a directory.
Please transition to Trisquel 6. Version 5.5 has been marked "End Of Life" and is no longer supported.
Hi again,
I have tried to get Trisquel 6 through the Update Manager, and by downloading the .iso . But the Update Manager says that it's having trouble connecting to the server (even though it has no problem downloading updates (another crusade in itself)).
I also have Ubuntu 12.04LTS installed, and it doesn't detect anything in the CD Drive either. So I don't know what's going on.
If it doesn't work in Trisquel or Ubuntu, perhaps it's an issue with the drive itself?
It might be, although if I start up the computer, and a CD/DVD is in the drive, it will try to read the CD in case it has an OS on the disk. So it reads, but not when I want access to it.
Update: I have tried to access the CD/DVD Player through My Computer. And this also does not allow me to open the drive. No idea what's going on today (and yesterday, considering it's 3:27am EST right now).
I'm going to try installing a block device reader, and see if I can figure out what's up with /dev/sr0 as Magic Banana suggested looking into.
Wish me luck ;)
Update: The Block Device reader doesn't work the way I though it would. It doesn't open up the /dev/sr0 device and display the contents. I'm at a loss now.
Is there a way to manually view or adjust the CD Drive in Terminal?
