Evolution email notifications not working in panel

Hello,
On Trisquel 6.0.1 and Evolution 3.2.3 I've never been able to get the indicator applet 0.5.0 (envelope in panel) to show new email message counts, it always shows 0. I verified plugin is enabled (evolution indicator) within Evolution. Is this a broken feature, if so can anyone please help me with a workaround? Thank you.

I didn't notice that until now, I don't really use that feature though. I use alltray to make evolution to minimize to the tray.
