Great news regarding the open codec Daala

Montgomery, the creator of Daala, has changed jobs from Red Hat to Mozilla in order to concentrate on the codec more. This is good news as it will be patent free and under an open license for all to use. Best of all, the codec will be on par with the upcoming H265 codec.

Actually, http://xiph.org/daala/ says their goal is performance that is superior to H.265, not just "on par."
