Have to go through weird steps every time I boot

Hi everyone,
Some months ago I decided to give Debian a try. I installed it with a USB stick. Since I installed it I have had this issue that's shown in the video I'm linking to below. Every time I boot or restart I have to go through this weird process of selecting the right options until it finally works. I have also experienced some slowness which may be unrelated to this.
Now I am ready to go back to Trisquel. I am going to use a USB stick again to do that. Can anyone help me fix this issue so that I don't have to deal with it anymore, especially after I re-install Trisquel (which came with this laptop originally). I am a novice when it comes to understanding what these boot screen options mean. It was just by luck that I was able to figure out how to load the operating system at all.

The laptop in question is a Taurinus, a refurbished Thinkpad X200 sold by Libiquity. Libreboot came pre-installed. I have never installed or updated Libreboot myself and I don't know how but am willing to learn. If the video isn't clear enough I can post some pictures as well.
Thanks for any advice you may have.
I use Debian on coreboot devices too. I also had to select a display mode, but only when I was installing Debian.
