Help for a noob? (Wireless driver)

Hi,
I'm new to GNU/Linux (9 months on Ubuntu) and would like to migrate to Trisquel. I'm using a Lenovo X60 which apparently has an Intel 3945 wireless card. From testing Trisquel and searching the forums/internet, it seems that there's no Free (as in speech) driver for this card.
Any suggestions for next steps? It seems my options are 1) stay with Ubuntu or 2) buy a Free-compatible wireless device.
Option #1 is not a great option since I dig the philosophy of the FSF/Trisquel/etc.
Option #2 is not a great option since I've barely tested Trisquel; it looks really good at first glance, but I haven't really gotten in-depth with it yet.
Thanks in advance!
You can find a USB WiFi adapter which will work at libre.thinkpenguin.com. It costs only $44 and supports Trisquel development as well (if you buy from Think Penguin when you access it from libre.thinkpenguin.com, 25% of the profits go to Trisquel).

Is your card one of these?:
http://h-node.org/wifi/view/en/205/Intel-Corporation-PRO-Wireless-3945ABG--Golan--Network-Connection--rev-02-
http://h-node.org/wifi/view/en/184/Intel-Corporation-PRO-Wireless-3945ABG--Golan--Network-Connection--rev-02-
If not, it would be useful if you could add it to h-node.org.
Unfortunately Lenovo implements white listing of wifi adapters and you
can't just buy a replacement if your BIOS isn't hacked to remove this
DRM-like feature:
http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Problem_with_unauthorized_MiniPCI_network_card
A quick look at bios-mods.com doesn't show any posts with modified BIOS
for your kind of system :(
So you r best bet would be to use an external wifi adapter if you don't
want to use non-free drivers.
