Hello all,

I'm using Icedove on Trisquel 8 and would like to integrate my calendar and contacts on Nextcloud with it. My preferred way on other linux distros with Thunderbird was to simply use Lightning and install the CardBook add-on, but I found no (obvious) way of installing these calendar and address book add-ons in Trisquel.
So I'd be happy to get hints from you about how to achieve this.

Cheers & thanks in advance!

Lighting is in the default install (the related package is "xul-ext-lightning"). You can download https://addons.thunderbird.net/thunderbird/downloads/latest/cardbook/addon-634298-latest.xpi and install this file from the "gear" menu in the window listing the installed extensions (accessible from the burger menu).

Thanks Magic Banana, installation of the CardBook add-on worked! :)

I just checked and the package "xul-ext-lightning" was already installed. Maybe I'm just missing something very obvious here, but how do I access the calendar in Icedove then? I cannot find an entry like "Calendar" or similar in the burger menu...

I actually remember that, right after installing Trisquel 8, I had the calendar docked in the right-hand side of Icedove's main window. But since I do not use that feature, I disabled it. Re-enabling it, I have two buttons at the right of the tab bar to "Switch to the calendar tab" and "Switch to the tasks tab". Don't you have them?

No, it seems I don't have these buttons. See screenshot:

Lightning doesn't show up under Add-ons either, if that helps in any way.

It should be listed in the add-ons. It is on my system. Certainly because the "xul-ext-lightning" package is installed. That package is modified by both Ubuntu and Trisquel but I guess you could try to install the upstream Lightning extension from this file (as you did for CardBook): https://addons.thunderbird.net/thunderbird/downloads/file/633791/lightning-5.4-sm+tb-linux.xpi

Sorry for the delayed reply, I was traveling. Thanks, Magic Banana, the manual download method worked. Problem solved. :)
