k9copy?

K9copy doesn't seem to be part of Trisquel packages? Such a shame.
Why not?
BTW, many thanks for this very nice mono-free Ubuntu-derivative.
Ubuntu puts it in multiverse, probably for patent reasons. It doesn't seem to be non-free itself, nor is it in the libreplanet software blacklist.
Grabbing the deb straight off of the ubuntu repo works fine. It's at http://packages.ubuntu.com/maverick/k9copy
It's worth mentioning that Trisquel does include Mono in the repositories, since it is free software. It's just not a part of the default installation.
Many thanks for your replies. I suppose I ought to install K3B first in order to get all the KDE libs and such.
Will the deb install permit automatic update?
Is it possible to add Ubuntu multiverse depository, and install k9copy from there?
As for Mono, many hearty thanks to the Trisquel devs for excluding it. Saves me removing all that pseudo free software. With M$ code behind it, Trisquel is right to avoid it.
If you just download the .deb file from the Ubuntu repository and install it manually, I'm pretty sure you won't get automatic updates.
On the other hand, if you add Ubuntu's multiverse repository, you'll get automatic updates, but it will make all of the proprietary software in that repository available for you on Trisquel.
As far as I know, Ubuntu only backports security fixes for packages in its repositories so you probably won't get the latest version from Ubuntu's repositories anyway.
Well, Mono *is* free software (otherwise it would not e in Trisquel's repository). And, as far as I know, there is little (no?) code from Microsoft in it. The issue is the threat of patents.
Patents may only be the problem and I really don't see the need to laden our freedom with possible patent issues. Fortunately, Mono sofware is easily replaceable, and worth replacing when you have used F-Spot for a couple of minutes ;-) Ubuntu kicked it out finally.
Many thanks for your comments.
I understand about Ubuntu multiverse but if I only install k9copy, I won't get all the nonfree stuff, except if there are nonfree dependences. There shoudn't be since k3b is in Trisquel repos, and it mostly shares the same dependencies as k9copy.
It seems that k9copy development has stopped. That means you can install through Ubuntu multiverse, and soon enough you won't get any update and so you can remove Ubuntu multiverse from you sources.list
