Kleopatra errors: self-test error, can't change my own key's passphrase, can't search for certificates on key servers

Hi, I am new here.
I downloaded Kleopatra from the repositories and installed it. Whenever I start Kleopatra, I got an error message about its 'self-test'. I have attached a screenshot picture with this post.
When I created a new certificate, I can't set its passphrase. When I tried to change my certificate's passphrase after creating it, I got this error message.
"An error occurred while trying to change the passphrase for [my username]:
Not supported"
I also can't look up certificates on servers. The search function is not working.
What is the cause of these problems and how can I fix them?

Is the gpg-agent running? Does this give any output? If so, what?
pgrep gpg -l
Hi lembas,
No. The "pgrep gpg -l" command did not give any output.
How can I test whether my gpg-agent is running or not?
You just did. pgrep lists processes. No output means it's not running.
What happens if you run
gpg-agent --daemon
If you get no output (as in all is fine) try kleo again.
gpg-agent --daemon
GPG_AGENT_INFO=/tmp/gpg-sw2ERh/S.gpg-agent:22371:1; export GPG_AGENT_INFO;
And kleo?
Klepatra still has problems.
More details
Kleopatra
Version 2.1.1
Using KDE Development Platform 4.8.5 (4.8.5)
Do I need to download any additional software or updates?
What kind of problems?
The same problems that I mentioned at the start of this thread.
