I'm informed that Ubuntu is now using Libre Office by default, so I'm wondering if Trisquel will also be switching over from OpenOffice.org in the near future - perhaps in version 5.0?

I'm already looking forward to the new Trisquel with abrowser 4 and LibreOffice.

It would be really cool if abrowser would be switched for IceCat, but that's probably not going to happen.

Both will be on Trisquel 5 :)

Yeah, maybe not.
But you can have them with PPAs, both IceCat and LibreOffice has support
for Lucid/Taranis and Maverick/Slaine.

Cheers!

The only reason why Trisquel uses abrowser instead of IceCat is because IceCat is not packaged the Debian way. So it brings a lot of packages that are already provided by the system.
Basically they're the same, the only difference is the logo and the name. I guess if we changed the name and made a cool logo it would fully satisfy people.

There is one other reason -- our wiki-based add-ons website is an improvement over IceCat's in important ways.

Could this feature not be implemented with IceCat?
