Hi,

Am loving Trisquel right now. It's how Ubuntu should run except without all the bloat! Followed the documentation for making my own trisquel but I added a few extra steps as I didn't have the right desktop. I found that to get the look and feel of the regular Trisquel download you need to add the trisquel-base 6.0.7 from the synaptic package manager otherwise you just have the xfce desktop. I also added triskel and lxde to give a few extra desktop options. I added cinnamon from the linux mint repositories but found a problem with nemo so had to uninstall it as I kept getting an error message. Once I'd loaded all the apps I wanted I created a custom live cd using remastersys. Add the precise repository from remastersys.com to your sources. Happy days!

Are you really sure about the linux mint repos?
They don't care much about free software; I think the danger of getting some proprietary libs or dependences is to high.
You should study very carefully which packages get installed.

Instead of creating "yet another desktop" I suggest creating a Trisquel Server edition ISO much like the one from Ubuntu that includes specific applications to that environment.

Installed Mint once so don't really know if I am sure about the repos? I followed a forum post on here about a few users who were running Tris 6.0 with cinnamon installed. I looked for the error message that I got regarding cinnamon in this forum but didn't see any other comments about it. I just wanted to get their desktop environment wasn't too fussed about installing any of their apps.
