First of all, you did not post in the right forum. Then, I do not understand your problem. The base install of Trisquel has codecs for the H.264 format. I believe it is provided by the package "gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly" or the package "gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg". You should not have to install anything. Have you tried reading a video encoded with H.264 (e.g., with the default video player: Totem)?
