We had a nice fast sail down to Corsica from the Porquerolles, the Mistral had become a nice fresh and steady NNW Beaufort Force 5, this lovely breeze kept up till we passed the Sanguinaires and dropped anchor in Porto Vecchio.
We searched for some 'Brocciu' but the goats are no longer producing any milk...!
Yes it's the fault of the Russians
Blame blame blame...
Shame on you blamers ain't no goats cheese in Corisca no more !
Maybe if you was there on the proper season, you could have eaten Brocciu'
don't blame the Russian for buying all the cheese made in Corsica, they got more money and you don't!
A sailors salary is pitiful.
An option to your appetite , they have a lot of cheese's for sale made in France at your disposal...
So why there is no goat cheese in Corsica? the answer is because: Mangy dogs always is smelling bad!! it scare the goats away!
Maybe,if you were nicer and kind to the Corsican, they would treated your mange decease with penicillin made out of an old fungus made out of blue cheese made in Corsica.

you could always order.
Blame it on those rats that ate all your cheeses, For sure you did not drop a bouquet of Flowers where the ancestral home of Napoleon Bonaparte,
Non, pas de vin cheses
Lots of Mangy Dogs in Corsica, U Cursinu...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cursinu
Snow and rain on Aiguilles de Bavella (I Forchi di Bavedda), glided through the Bonnifaccio Straits (Bucchi di Bunifaziu), cleared the Isuli Lavezzi, moored in Cala di Volpe and waiting for a stronger breeze.
No Pecorino Sardo (fiore sardo), in Sardinia...yes, it's the fault of the Russians
Blame, blame, blame
Shame on you blamers, we will soon all die of scurvy..unless we get some "fossilized" cheese somewhere..
Honestly that dog is beautiful and it means business when it comes to "be a guardian"
Yea, been stuck between two island and specially when maneuvering with sailing boat and no wind in your favor it takes good sailing skills to maneuvered. I hope you guys got a good an inboard or outboard engine for just that emergency situation.
In reference in not finding Pecorino Sardo , you could find other kind of cheeses some where else. Be patient!
Hey why the Russians? they only eat caviar! LOL , PROBABLY they ate UP ALL THE CHEESES of the region, they are hungry too.
about scurvy, drinking ANY citric fruits, LIKE ORANGE JUICE will help you avoid that sickness.
and about "fossilized" cheese, I did visit the city of Pompeii in Italy, the problem it was "fossilized CHEESE" because of the volcano explosion, no one cant eat hard rock
the James Bond film, The Spy Who Loved Me were filmed in Cala di Volpe. enjoy those beaches and views.
Indeed Jodiendo, Cala di Volpe was a stage for a "James Bondo Movie".
Those were the days when "Her Majesty's Service" had more brains than it has today. At present it seems "Her Majesty's Service" is suffering from the withdraw effects of a dubious home-brew Novichok nerve agent, the undergoing tests on all agents was a bad choice..I dear say it looks like a rather bad quality plot that would never have been accepted for the scenario of a James Bondo movie unless you named it : "They All Lost the plot".
We did a rig check, got the anchor stashed below deck and cleared the Nato base of Santo Stefano (island), it's quite cold, NE 2O Knots with 11 degrees Celsius, but with wind chill factor feels like 3° C..tomorow should be F7 to F8 ENE, so we decide to make a move South and aim for the Isola Vulcano of the Lipari Islands off the coast of Sicily, hopefully we will get some "fossilized" cheese over there ! or else we are the scapegoat of the Mediterranean sea.
Before leaving we folowed your advice and did a raid with the tender and grabbed some "citrus" fruits that are now happy swinging in a net above the galley, they had not seen any Vikings here since a while..but lots of Russians in Porto Cervo for the summer.

Isola Vulcano of the Lipari Islands off the coast of Sicily ON THAT ISLAND YOU WONT FIND THE FOSSIL CHEESE, JUST ROCKS, BUT IN SICILY YOU WOULD FIND LOTS OF BREAD AND WINE AND HOPEFULLY REAL FOSSILIZE CHEESE. LOL
BE CAREFUL WITH THE COSA NOSTRA IN SICILY THEY ARE THE REAL OWNERS OF THAT LAND, AND NOT THE GOVERNMENT. vIVA SICILY!
WHEN YOU VISIT SICILY ENJOY THE SICILIAN PECORINO, TYPE OF HARD CHEESE
Areas of production
Prizzi and Hadrian’s Palace in the Province of Palermo for optimal Pecorino Canestrato; Godrano, Corleone, S. Giuseppe
Jato, Alcamo and Castellamare del Golfo for the so-called Pecorino Nostrano; Ragusa and the greater Province of Ragusa.
i DID VISIT THE PORT OF PALERMO, IN 1986 VIA A TOUR BOAT FROM ROME.i DID ENJOY IT VERY MUCH! AND THE WINE AND EATING WAS DELICIOUS, MOST OF THE TIME I WAS SUBMERGED IN A BOTTLE OF WINE. lol
Mangy
where are you?
Did you piss off Poseidon?
or better yet, did kracos got you with his tentacles?
or you was kidnap or hijack by a mysterious awesome Sicilian lady?
answer me!!!
We are all well, the passage to the Lipari Islands was a bit of a wet ride to windward with quite some big waves coming to smack us, reminding us that it's not quite summer yet, here in the Mediterranean...
Yes I got "hijacked" and it's nice and warm : snugged tight in the arms of beautiful Natalia a Lipari Island mermaid, but should regain the boat soon (or maybe not!). As we head off to Sicilia, then point our bow to the Greek Islands for 2 months then return via the Adriatic Sea & the Croatian Islands...
We didn't find any "fossilized cheese" so far but instead "Formaggio di capra".
