Non SaaSS language translator

I am looking for a language translator that uses an off-line dictionary, so it isn't SaaSS, or Service as a Software Substitute. I tried gnome-translate, and Translator (Apertium), and they didn't work.

I kind of wondered about this myself... nothing in the Trisquel repo seems to work. Actually, the ones that are supposed to use SaaSS translators don't seem to work, either.

It would be cool to have something like that for Trisquel.
