If you are in Abrowser, make sure you enable MP4 support through about:config and are able to play H.264 encoded MP4 files in the browser. You may also need to install a user agent switcher and use one of these user agents:

Android:
Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 4.0.2; en-us; Galaxy Nexus Build/ICL53F) AppleWebKit/534.30 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/534.30

iPad:
Mozilla/5.0 (iPad; CPU OS 7_0_2 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/537.51.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/7.0 Mobile/11A501 Safari/9537.53

Refresh the page and the typical Flash site that plays videos may load an embedded MP4 file instead. So there you go, simple and painless.

Oh if you are using Chromium/Chrome, just go to the dev tools (F12), go to Emulation, and select Nexus or iPad. Simple.

Thanks - sounds like a cool tip. But:

>make sure you enable MP4 support through about:config

Which entry should one check? Filtering on mp4 or 264 doesn't return anything.

media.gstreamer.enabled
It's set to true by default in Abrowser, so you probably won't have to change anything.

media.gstreamer.enabled is indeed set to true, but I see 'MPEG-4 support - No' on http://html5test.com/. Anybody here with 'MPEG-4 support - Yes'? What setting/package could be missing?

To see if playback works, go to http://www.html5test.com or direct link to a .mp4 file.

Checking that link actually reveals something really cool.

DRM Support - No.

Just the way it should be.
