Hello,

I'm looking for something to draw trees. Like this

http://www.graphicmania.net/wp-content/uploads/LinuxTimeline.jpg_726.jpg

or this

http://tree.bio.ed.ac.uk/software/Figtree/screenshot.png

The last one is from the program FigTree that I think is free software (but not sure, since I didn't find the License). However, I'm interested to do the trees without a graphical interactive interface, like writing a plain file with all the info and then invocking the program.

The GNU/Linux timeline is made with gnuclad[1][2][3].

I use pst-tree, a LaTeX package based upon PStricks. Very convenient. You can find on the Web beautiful trees made with it (not in the official documentation I pointed to).
