Is there anyone that:
* Has a Radeon card other than the R600 (and you tell by running lspci -v)
* Has used my kernels to get Radeon support, and
* Is willing to do some tests (not right now though) with a specially modified newer kernel version to see how it works?

Once you do lspci take a peek here and find your device name on the right. Then locate the short name, like R600 or whatever, on the left: https://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/driver/xf86-video-radeonhd/tree/README

Actually, that link might not be ideal because it doesn't include all devices. So just do:

lspci -nn | grep VGA

And make note of the full line.

Right now I have a Thinkpad T60 (1400x1050) with ATI x1400. If you need to test something, I am here for you.

Previously I had LG E500 with ATI shit, 3.4 and 4.2 worked the same way, GPU can not to detect resolution.

Do you still have access to both machines for testing? Do you have the resolution problem only in the LG E500 or the ThinkPad too or what? What does lspci -nn | grep VGA say on them?

Hi!
I have a lot of problems with my screen, is not recognized, I can't change brightness, I downloaded redshift and it does not work. I don't know if it is because I use a laptop and graphics are integrated, but i hope i can help you.

00:01.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Kabini [Radeon HD 8210] [1002:9834]

I attached a screnshot, it is in spanish but it says: "Impossible to get monitor information." Thats the message I get when I try to adjust my monitor resolution.

I use linux-libre64 and linux-libre64-headers. If there is something I can do please let me know

I have:
CPU: AMD E1-2100 a 1,0 GHz with Radeon(TM) HD Graphics
MEMORY: SDRAM DDR3L de 4 GB (1 DIMM)

You'll need to downgrade to linux libre 3.4 ->

Hei!

Thank you for your help! I will.

But I think I also can help to test the newer kernel, I would be glad to help even just a little bit :)

Jxself, if you have a Radeon hack to make it work around blobs, I'm sure folks at #parabola would want to hear about it. They build their own kernels, not simply using Linux-libre.

alberto: my previous lappy had a radeon and it was a true pain in the a**s :)

Anyway, there is no way to have 3d acceleration with an ATI no matter the kernel you will ever use without the firmware blob.
AFAIK the only way for you to get the correct resolution is to downgrade to 3.4
See, after 3.10 the linux kernel got a little simplification somewhere in the code and now no ati works properly without the proprietary blob :((

I suggest you sell your lappy and for the money you get off of it you buy yourself a decent old one with an Intel integrated GPU.

Hope I can help to do the tests of the new kernel, I can install a second trisquel for all the tests :)
