Hello, fellow users,
I've recently bought a Samsung Chromebook 2. It's a very nice computer, but what I really wanted was for it to run Trisquel, replacing Chrome OS completly and permanently.
Is that possible? Would it run fine?
Trisquel does not run on an ARM architecture (yet). You can install Debian GNU/Linux (without the "contrib" and the "nonfree" repositories) with Crouton: http://www.itworld.com/article/2831260/how-to-run-linux-on-a-chromebook.html
Well, actually my model has a Intel N2840 (Celeron or Dual-core, I can't remember) and it's x86_64,as far as I know.
In that case Trisquel will probably work nicely. Try a live CD or live USB.
Things that are most likely to not work are wifi and gpu.
The integrated graphics should be good. Celeron processors come with Intel GMA. So it's only the wireless that might not work.
