Here's my current xmonad desktop with a lot of drowning & solarity.
TW: Reddit. :p
My ever so exciting Emacs window manager.

EDIT: Don't judge me too hard on my rather rudimentary Lisp styling mistakes that I hadn't noticed until a commenter on Imgur told me! :)
Woah, that's cool! Emacs isn't quite an OS, but at least it's a WM!
And since your reddit user was on-screen, I'm now obligated to add you to my friends list. =w=
I basically live inside Emacs because I got so used to the keybindings that I would try and use them on other programs, sometimes screwing things up. Thanks to EXWM, I don't have to worry about that anymore! :P
I didn't even know you could add friends on Reddit... But go ahead!

Yes it's maintained with the latest packages & very regular updates, the Forum was removed due to too much spam.I have been using it alongside gNewSense Ucclia Alpha(which has less recent software!...)it's Very stable & fast on a 10 year old PC...The Full installation on a hard drive takes only 17 minutes+updates ... ;-)

SuperTramp83, is that Cinnamon, MATE, or is it something else? Anyway, your desktop looks great! :)
My new desktop computer that I'm slowly migrating to has Debian Testing on it with Cinnamon.
I'm glad to see people with the Tor Browser installed :)
Nice & Rock N Roll :)too
It looks pretty standard. Nice background, though. :)
Thanks, & i got the background from an android phone of mine.
I've spent a few hours reading about gtk and played a little bit. I basically modified the numix gtk theme into its superwhite (the color is #FAFAFA) variant. I left the panel black because I like transparent panels hence no matter the color..
Here the looks -> https://lut.im/yjMcscwXXQ/RUgxxHJMH7k4CniN.jpg
I attach the theme if any of you want to give it a try.

Thanks SuperTramp...i'll give it a try soon
cheers +100A1

*** SuperT gives +99A1 back to mangy
¿Que Tal? SuperTramp83 muchas gracias :-)
Albedo (/ælˈbiːdoʊ/) or reflection coefficient, derived from Latin albedo "whiteness" (or reflected sunlight) in turn from albus "white", is the diffuse reflectivity or reflecting power of a surface
Aqui està el resultado on a fresh Netinstall of Debian XFCE 8.3.0
### Requirements
GTK+ 3.6 or above
Murrine theme engine
Download SuperTramp's 83 Numix Albedo 0.6.tar
extract the tar in your ~/usr/share/themes/
su -
# cd /home/tortillas/Downloads/Numix Albedo 0.6.tar
# mv Numix Albedo 0.6.tar /usr/share/themes/
# cd /usr/share/themes/
# tar -xf Numix Albedo 0.6.tar
fetch the Numix-icon-theme-circle but first make a folder
# mkdir numix-icon-theme-circle
then install git
# apt-get install git
# git clone https://github.com/numixproject/numix-icon-theme-circle.git
# cd numix-icon-theme-circle
# mv Numix-Circle /usr/share/icons
# mv Numix-Circle-Light /usr/share/icons
et Voila!
looks good mangy :)
But you are using Numix as the window theme, right? If you set greybird as the windows theme it will be more consistent. Also, I see the highlighted font color is wrong. I did a mistake with that part but I corrected it and uploaded the corrected version a few days ago, so maybe re-download the theme.
ciao
Your theme is much better on the long run Numix is too black
and tends to get in the way..good job you did
Style:
Numix Albedo window theme
Icons:
Numix Circle
yes if i choose greybird i will have entirely white windows...but i quite like the black ribbon(highlignt:)
The Numix theme gives a nice result with the 'old BLAG 14K icons..!
Numix looks very good. I used to use it for windows combined with the greybird gtk theme and it was very polished.
tx.I'm glad you like it. I like free beers :)
One thing though, I still see in your last screenshot that the fonts are not decently visible when there is the grey highlight color. That should not be if you download the tar now, for I corrected that issue, at least it works here and on a friend's setup. Anyway, if you edit /usr/share/themes/NumixAlbedo/gtk-2.0/gtkrc
and set the nselected_fg_color to #ffffff you should have nice white visible fonts there.
;-)
I simply replaced the previous gtkr settings with your last
update
# Numix GTK Theme
gtk-color-scheme = "bg_color:#fafafa\nfg_color:#555555\nbase_color:#fafafa\ntext_color:#333333\nselected_bg_color:#808080\nselected_fg_color:#ffffff\ntooltip_bg_color:#fafafa\ntooltip_fg_color:#333333\ntitlebar_bg_color:#fafafa\ntitlebar_fg_color:#fafafa\nmenubar_bg_color:#fafafa\nmenubar_fg_color:#2d2d2d\ntoolbar_bg_color:#fafafa\ntoolbar_fg_color:#fafafa\nmenu_bg_color:#fafafa\nmenu_fg_color:#2d2d2d\npanel_bg_color:#2d2d2d\npanel_fg_color:#fafafa\nlink_color:#fc6f5d"
The result is much better,i just have grey when i want to copy in Abiword/Libre Office or Synaptic otherwise
copy-paste selecting works fine on a web page (grey but one can read the letters)as in screenshot
In fact it's needs more transparency?Any others testing your nice work?

mmm, birre monastiche :)

I have a confession... I am using Ubuntu because I need proprietary firmware or else my computer doesn't boot :(
Why? Can't be fixed with more up to date kernels?
I'm not sure exactly why. Trisquel 6 worked OK, but Trisquel 7 just went to a black screen.
Which book are you reading to learn Scheme?
The book I am referring to is actually not for Scheme at all, it is for turtle graphics. To learn Scheme I simply reference the R7RS standard, SRFIs and help online. The language standard is only about 70 pages long, so it's easy to reference.
The book is $45, but I received a worn-out copy as a gift from a math professor - https://mitpress.mit.edu/books/turtle-geometry
The GPU is Radeon, BTW. There was an older kernel which supported your HW:
https://trisquel.info/es/forum/making-radeon-work-again-bringing-back-linux-libre-34
Thank you for the link! I will try it next time I upgrade, right now I need a stable system so I don't want to change anything this second.
You can install that kernel from https://jxself.org/linux-libre/ in your Ubuntu edition just to try if it boots.
But what happens if it fails to boot :S
How do you did this?
The black background in all trisquel is so nice and the icon package is very clean. Please tell me how I can do it. Thanks.
