Hello Trisquel forum,

I just installed this nice distro on a libreboot thinkpad X60 and I experience odd issues. Pressing the "0" key moves the cursor around and makes a right click. Other keys like "q" just do not work.
During the installation all keys have been recognized correct and this problem occurred after rebooting into the fresh installed distro.

Your help would be much appreciated.

Greetings,

Celty.

Do you have those issues from a Live system. If so, then it definitely is a hardware problem.

A possible solution would be to use xmodmap. See https://trisquel.info/fr/forum/how-get-keys-thinkpad-t60-german-keyboard-layout#comment-60582 for instructions.

Hey Magic Banana,

I did not have the problem during installation (while using the live system). The problem occured only after i installed Trisquel to the hdd and booted from it.
Changing layouts in the system settings did not affect this.

Any ideas how to fix this? For me it is not usable like this.

I gave you a way in my previous post.

Ok so my only option is to manually remap my keys?
But why will it work like a charm on a live system and only cause trouble after installing it to the hard drive?
Would it not be possible to copy the config from the live system for convenience sake?
Sorry but I am still plenty inexperienced with gnu/linux.

Cheers

The keys are all mapped in the right way and working in after the installation, but the first time I lock the laptop and try to login in the keys do what ever they want.

Using xmodmap works, but this is clearly a problem with trisquel or libreboot, since the problem is the same on every x60 I flashed with libreboot.
The problem does not occur with any other distro so far.

It might be caused by Libreboot. I suggest you try and install an earlier version.

See http://libreboot.org/docs/tasks.html :

"X60: on the latest coreboot-libre update lately (during June 2015), keyboard works intermittently. Bisect and fix. "
