On this discussion... https://trisquel.info/en/forum/default-desktop-7-still-looks-horrible
I noticed a comment that said the default theme looks prettier with a nice wallpaper. So wallpapers are not just to fill the background but does make desktop look better. Why don't we share some wallpapers here. If Ruben likes them, who knows they may be made default wallpapers.
As you might have seen in the latest builds, the artwort for trisquel 7 has already been updated and looks great imho. Of course it would be nice to have some additional wallpapers available.
where can I find them?
All wallpaper packages from Mint would be nice (and they're all free. Although some green pictures should probably have their hue changed a bit to blue).
Yup I agree! Especially the different places on earth.
Even I used a Mint wallpaper for Trisquel 6.
The wallpapers from the Elementary OS stable PPA are nice too.
I think some aren't free, though.
Please explain. Aren't they on some sort of creative commons license?
Having taken another look at the license file I think that too many of the pictures didn't quite specify the licences they're in, which means they aren't quite free (yet):

At least 1 of the images that says "given permission by" turned out to be free, yet at least another didn't have its license specified at its page.
I might've missed something of course (in which case please tell me I did) but doesn't non-commercially mean that a picture isn't really free (and even though I'd happily use it privately it does prevent me somewhat from commercially making use of an OS that includes it, thus making the OS non-free, right?)
The wallpapers of Trisquel 7 is here: http://devel.trisquel.info/artwork/
Those wallpapers could be losslessly compressed, e.g. using the Trimage package from Trisquel repos.
I only tried compressing the 1.png and it shunk in size 11.1%.
They ain't too bad (if at all)!
Having said that I still think there are better ones out there.
Nice. I also like the raindrops themed ones from quidam's blog.
I think this is a better raindrop-themed wallpaper :)

I personally like Rubén's pictures better, probably better that the current artwork for Belenos. Also, considering the position of the panel makes this wallpaper a bad match.
Thank tou!
Personal new task for the next few weeks - Make some new backgrounds, if my skills still allow me to do it. :D
