So I've installed Trisquel 8 on my Librebooted X60. Booting Trisquel 8 live from a thumbdrive is fine. Booting it from the hard drive results in Libreboot giving this error. I do not know what to do to fix it. I would like some help, please. Thank you for reading.

maybe libreboot can't find the grub config file, renaming grub.cfg to grub_libreboot.cfg may help

this is also present on other distros that i've tested. maybe even parabola. i'm not sure what causes it, but i'm aware of it. submit a bug report if one hasn't already been reported.

I had this issue with my x200 librebooted by minifree. I never figured out what was the problem, and even Leah couldn't help me. After an update of libreboot it worked.

/vmlinuz is hardcoded path that old libreboot versions used as a fallback if no grub config is used. Upgrading libreboot should help, it also allows using more graphics memory.

I will try updating and report back.

This issue seems to affect other distros too. If anyone finds a fix, please submit a patch to libreboot's grub.cfg:
https://libreboot.org/git.html

Note that manually booting works fine (e.g. linux /vmlinuz root=/dev/sda1, initrd /initrd.img) in most setups.

This issue needs to be fixed for the next release; can you file a bug report?
