Hi Everyone,

I ran into an odd issue on my Trisquel laptop last week-ish. I bought my Thinkpad x230 pre-installed with Trisquel and osboot (https://osboot.org/).

Everything was working fine until last week when my laptop stopped connecting to my home wifi network. I have tried to figure out why for the past week, but have had no luck.

I have turned the wifi switch on my thinkpad on and off, removed my home connection, tried reconnecting, but nothing.

I am however able to hotspot my laptop. Just not able to connect to a wifi network.

I recently found this box unchecked in my user settings (attached). I thought this was the problem. After checking it off and trying again though, still no luck.

I was told that my wifi chipped may have stopped working, but it is so odd that it stopped workin gout of nowhere. I didn't change anything.

Anyone know why this could be happening?

Your screenshot shows that a wireless connection is active, right? I think hotspot would show a different icon.

That was definitely a hotspot from my phone. It wont connect to any wireless network, unfortunately.

Then I would strongly suspect that your home wifi has been sabotaged by your partner, for reasons only you can guess.

Other than that, your router might like a reset from time to time, in order to install updates, or simply to get your attention.

It was actually a problem with my ISP, they removed those homepods which make our connection stronger/weaker.

My partner and I dont live together. I was just saying that when I go to her house, my thinkpad connects. Therefore, its probably a problem with my wifi.
