Hello,

Where can I buy a usb wireless adapter (stick) with chipset RTL8187b, that
works with Trisquel-Mini ? I have found the following, but there is no
information about "where to buy them".

http://www.h-node.org/wifi/catalogue/en/1/1/undef/undef/undef/undef/undef/undef?search_string=8187b&submit=Search

Please help.

Thanks,

25% on the benefits, yes. Here is the link (where the "libre" part of the URL is essential).

It is on the right side of the website. Under the donations part and under the picture of the coffee cup. It is the one with the penguin on it.

The links aren't visible via the email interface if they're not visible, like this I hear.

We have few cards left although you should be able to get one still. We have a few hundred coming as a temporary replacement. Hopefully it lasts us until we can get the N USB adapter manufactured and the firmware released for a new Atheros chipset.

NewEgg sells the TRENDnet TEW-424UB USB wireless adapter for USD $11.

According to H-Node, it uses the Realtek RTL8187B chipset and is compatible with Trisquel.

I'll give that one a try. I've been searching for one of these for a while!

I use a Netgear USB wifi card. WG111v2 - I picked it up on ebay about six months ago for under 10 bucks and it works just fine. It tends to get a little bit hot - but I have not noticed the wifi kicking in and out.

Netgear WG111v2 on H-Node

Good choice if you are on a tight budget, otherwise I would definitely go with one of the Think Penguin cards since they support this project!

Best,

Lev
