Problem upgrading Openchrome driver

Beschreibung

Trisquel 6 repositories include xserver-xorg-video-openchrome-lts-quantal package. Upgrading to it isn't smooth (requires removing Trisquel metapackage and many xserver-xorg packages - see attached text file) and after rebooting I could not log in (reached gdm but it was green and mouse didn't respond).

To resolve this I edited /etc/X11/xorg.conf file and changed color depth from 16 to 24.

I also installed some xserver-xorg-input quantal packages from Trisquel's repository such as mouse, keyboard, all and synaptics - maybe they were also needed. Attached is a list of installed xserver-xorg-input packages on my computer.

I do not recommend performing this upgrade since after the upgrade video is blue in some players (VLC, Totem). To downgrade just install the old openchrome driver (xserver-xorg-video-openchrome) and install xserver-xorg, xserver-xorg-core, xserver-xorg-input-all and xserver-xorg-video-all (and also optionally trisquel and trisquel-desktop-common).

Did you try changing the hue parameter in totem? If you feel like trying it again, try moving the hue slider to extreme left or right.

Video works fine now without workarounds by downgrading to regular openchrome driver. I'll check the hue settings in future but one should not setup video colors after upgrading driver.

There were also other issues with the upgrade such as SMPlayer dropping audio sync on 720P files (when using xv driver) which worked with regular openchrome driver. SMplayer displayed the colors fine using upgraded driver (using SMPlayer and MPlayer from PPA).
