Compatibility issue of GNU Octave with QtOctave in T7

I have this GNU Octave 3.8.0 installed in my Trisquel 7 machine along with QtOctave GUI.
QtOctave, seems to be incompatibile with my Octave version, as my debug log files have this entry
[FATAL:LINK] link*_* function calls from QtOctave x.xx.xx has incompatible argument types. Design loading failed: E4281
Can anybody suggest me any GUI compatible with this version of GNU Octave? I have tried --force-gui from Octave cammand line, but it does not bring up GUI :(
