Idem with Lubuntu 18.04.6. The card has been recognized, but doesn't work. No problem with the previous wireless G mini PCIe card Atheros AR5BXB63 with an installation of Trisquel 9.0.2 Mini or Lubuntu 18.04.6. Thanks for the attention.
Try lspci command with those distros and with Trisquel 11. That command
will report something which will lead to the reasons why it does not
work.
At times the hardware stops unapproved devices from working. It can
sometimes be overriden by the BIOS. But the vendor will not allow it,
even if it is possible, in some cases.
On the other hand, if your vendor was ThinkPenguin, they might give
support for this case. You might also try support, even if the vendor
is another one.
