News from the Free Software Foundation in quotes:

"The deadline to submit a proposal for LibrePlanet 2017, has been extended! LibrePlanet 2017 will be held on March 25-26 in the Boston area. If you weren't able to submit a proposal on time, you've got until Monday, November 28th, 2016 at 10:00 EST (15:00 UTC) to submit your session idea, and we can't wait to read it!

Remember--speakers at LibrePlanet have varying degrees of experience and come from many fields, so whether you're new to speaking, a developer, an organizer, a policy wonk, a teacher, a librarian, or anyone else who has something to say that connects to our theme, "The Roots of Freedom," we want to see your proposals. Propose a session today!

Want to attend LibrePlanet, but not as a speaker? Attendee registration is open, and so is the scholarship application. Don't forget, admission to LibrePlanet is gratis for FSF members and students.

Happy hacking,

Georgia Young
