Trisquel 8 to 9: retrieving configuration for items on the bottom bar

After upgrading from Trisquel 8 to 9, I did not get back the applets that I had added to the panel (along the bottom edge of the screen). Some were launchers that contained custom command-lines. What are the chances that I can have the data back, and what procedure would you recommend that I follow, to look for it?
