We need a free software replacement to connect to the Skype network. The company that we are migrating from Windowz to Trisquel 5.0 will install the nonfree version of Skype otherwise. What are the options?
Thank you.

None of the above connect to the Skype network. They use other protocols, alternative to the one Skype uses. There aren't any free clients for the Skype network.
There is no free software able to connect to the Skype network all by itself. Even if there was such software, using a free software client with proprietary protocol is not solving anything. The major technical obstacle would be that the protocol could change constantly. If possible switch to SIP for telephony and some instant messaging protocol for text, like Jabber for example.
As said by ivaylo, there is no free implementation for skype protocol, i will close the ticket.
Feel free to reopen if a reliable free implementatin for skype appears.
