Gnome panel becomes solid when changing font size

Description

Changing any of the font parameters under Advanced Settings causes the panel to have a solid background.

Changing the desktop background, Panel settings or logging out causes the panel to become transparent again.

Attached is an image displaying the correct transparency at the top and the solid one at the bottom.

The same just happened when I logged back to my locked session, right now. I use non-default font parameters (using text scaling).
