lspci detects that I am using: VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI RV610 [Radeon HD 2400 XT]
Using this ATI graphic card turn the screen turn black after I have installed Triskquel in any mode ("Try Trisquel without installing", "Install Trisquel", or "Install Trisquel in text mode", etc.)
The problem figured out by having a close look at /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old and was solved by editing /etc/default/grub by adding "nomodeset" at the end of GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash" so it looks like GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash nomodeset".
A simple script could compare the graphic card to a list of cards that need "nomodeset" to work without proprietary Linux drivers.
Also, do not forget to run update-grub update-grub2.
Modifying /etd/default/grub and as described above, did not work when the metapackage "trisquel" (abrowser problem) is installed which receives error (see http://trisquel.info/en/issues/8058).
I can confirm this. However, my case has some more issues.
If you want, you can check out my case at https://trisquel.info/en/forum/mouse-pointer-and-graphical-issues-trisquel-60.
Best regards, ADFENO.
Have a nice day.
Is there anyone else affected by this issue? While no one answers, this issue will be maerked as unreproducible since at least in my case the current version of Trisquel doesn't present this issue. If you are still affected in the current version or one of the supported ones, set it to active again.
