What is Trisquel NetInstall?

NetInstall (also called "debian-installer") is the text-mode installer for Trisquel.

NetInstall allows you to adjust the installation of Trisquel. It is perfect to create a customized operating system and to use it as a powerful server.

NetInstall first came with Trisquel 4.5.1. Since then a new version of NetInstall was released with every version of Trisquel. After Ubuntu dropped support for this installation method, we stepped in to add any removed pieces and make it functional again, often from upstream Debian sources. So Trisquel 11.0 "Aramo" finally came with NetInstall, too.

If you use this kind of installation, Trisquel will start with a minimal command line interface, which offers you tools to download and install new software. You need a working internet connection to use NetInstall.

You can add packages to create your ideal desktop or server. With NetInstall you can create a configuration with advanced features like LVM, RAID and full disk encryption.
