What is Budgie?

Budgie is a desktop environment that uses GNOME technologies such as GTK+ (> 3.x) and is developed by the Solus Linux distribution and contributors from various communities like Arch Linux, Debian, Fedora, Manjaro Linux, and Ubuntu Budgie. Budgie aims to be a more lightweight and traditional desktop that still has most features of GNOME.

Budgie has good integration with GNOME, with use of underlying technologies to provide an alternative desktop experience. Budgie applications typically use GNOME components and title bars similar to GNOME applications.

Budgie automatically creates a favorites list as the user works, by moving categories and applications to the top of the menus when they are used.

Installation
