Trisquel Sugar TOAST

TOAST stands for Trisquel on a Sugar Toast. Trisquel Sugar TOAST is an edition of Trisquel. It includes Sugar, a learning platform for children and teachers and also includes other things. It was made for a wide variety of learners, with different levels of skill in terms of reading, language, and different levels of experience with computing.

Trisquel Sugar TOAST includes

  • the option to use live from a removable media or install permanently on a disk
  • lots of applications, called Activities
  • a joyful splash screen
  • selectable colour-schemes
  • English and Spanish as language options
  • Sugar style artwork

"The award-winning Sugar Learning Platform promotes collaborative learning through Sugar Activities that encourage critical thinking, the heart of a quality education. Designed from the ground up especially for children, Sugar offers an alternative to traditional “office-desktop” software."

The project was presented during the Software Freedom Day 09 event organized by the Free Software Foundation. Briefly introduced by Walter Bender, founder of SugarLabs, our Sugar+Trisquel solution provides a way to run this excelent educational software in a fully free system.

Many thanks to Aleksey Lim and to everyone at the Sugar project for giving us this wonderful software!
