ownCloud is a free and open-source server for files and "sync" data that can be
accessed remotely. ownCloud can be bought as a service or installed on a
computer you have access to. This document will show you briefly how to
connect the file browser in Trisquel 7.0 to an ownCloud server on your
LAN or on the internet so you can access your files under "Network".
Open Files by clicking on your Home folder and click on the entry under
"Network" that reads "Connect to Server". You will need to enter a
one-line address to connect to the server.
To connect to an ownCloud server on your local area network, enter a
line similar to
davs://192.168.1.102/owncloud/remote.php/webdav
You need to replace 192.168.1.102 with the actual address of the
computer running ownCloud on your network.
To connect to an ownCloud server on, for example, openshift.com, us a
line similar to
davs://owncloud-user.rhcloud.com/remote.php/webdav
Replace "owncloud" with the name of your app and "user" with your
username.
After pressing "Connect", enter your log-in credentials and your
ownCloud files will be listen under "Network" in Files. If they
disappear from the list, click "Connect to Server" and you can select
the URL again without having to type it in.
