I have a couple question. Is Doom Legacy Free Software? It says it is under the GNU GPL but it is not listed on Freedoom's site. is there is reason for that?
Also, whenever I open Doom Legacy from lsdldoom it locks my entire computer three or four seconds. When I try llxdoom it tries to open them closes quick before it even gets to the game. How do I get it to play?

Freedoom is a separate project to create media for the game engine, I don't know why you expect they would mention doom legacy (of all the free doom ports) on their site.
Do those use prboom? The prboom package in 3.5 is faulty. http://trisquel.info/en/issues/2064
