'Abrowser' behaves strangely after a system update.

Fixed in Abrowser 40....

The latest version should fix this for 32-bit toutatis.

I just got back from a week AFK, and downloaded the latest ABrowser patch (40.0.3) on both Trisquel 6 and 7. This seems to have fixed the segfault crashes on 6 (writing this in 6), and improved the stability in 7. Thanks to everyone who helped triage and fix the bugs involved. Great work!

I'm having a problem with the latest ABrowser on Belenos. It may just be a problem with the particular site (http://thedailyblog.co.nz/), but I'm reporting it here, as it may also be a Abrowser (or upstream) bug related to the ones that were recently fixed.

When I visit the site, I usually keep the front page open, and open the articles I want to read in new tabs. Recently, whenever I open two article tabs at once, the browser crashes. Not only that, it crashes the whole OS. Ctrl-Alt-F1 does nothing. Ctlr-Alt-Del does nothing. I have to hold down the on button my laptop to manually power down.

Has anybody come across similar problems with ABrowser on Trisquel since the 40.0.3 updates?

Edit: I'm pretty certain it was ABrowser, as I'd only just booted up and logged in, and the only other program open was a one file browser window (Nautilis or whatever the equivalent is in Belenos).

Edit: I investigated theDailyBlog with IceCat, using HTTPS Everywhere and LibreJS. Later I installed PrivacyBadger on ABrowser and tested with that. Turns out their server is running a plethora of nasty scripts, including multiple analytics engines; Google and StatCounter, and a very dodgy one that is connected with IMRWorldwide.com. I now suspect it is the latter that is crashing my machine, not any failure of ABrowser (other than failure to block this sort of server-side spyware by default). My gut feeling about this is reinfored by some of the comments under this 2007 article:
