Abrowser issues with Amazon site

In the past few days, Abrowser has begun to choke on the Amazon site. I keep getting warnings that a script is slowing the page. This happens on almost every page. Amazon is basically unusable on Abrowser. Other sites are working fine, as usual. I am using my daily driver, a Thinkpad x200 with 8 gigs of RAM.

So I tried Chrome and Falkon on the X200. Both choked on Amazon, but not as badly. Then I switched to a Linux Chromebook running Mint/Firefox with 2gigs of RAM. There were no script warnings. The site functioned, but Amazon still has problems. Some prices were stuck at the single item price, but I eventually worked around this issue, mostly anyway.

I think Amazon has started to heavily push AI (which annoying and useless) and additional tracking scripts. I managed to block the constant AI popups with UBO, but that is apparently just the tip of the iceberg. Some script is eating my bandwidth. I wonder if Abrowser is having issues with these heavy scripts? I finally managed to submit my weekly Whole Foods order on the Amazon site, but next week I'll switch to the local supermarket chain. I wonder if others are having similar problems?

"next week I'll switch to the local supermarket chain"

Best course of action.

No. I just browsed amazon.com with Abrowser and it went fine. $ abrowser --version Mozilla Firefox 153.0.3

Indeed, having your browser up-to-date is the best idea. Abrowser has a strict cookie policy by default as well as blocking trackers. Maybe amazon relies heavily on it.
You could create a profile and fine tune it for "Amazon browsing", but other than that, buying local might be a better call.

Well, well, well. Abrowser has not been updating UBO since February 7! It was still at version 1.66.0. I just forced an update to the latest version 1.73.0.

Extension Auto Updates are turned on, but Abrowser just ignores the setting. Let other users beware.

Here's how to update manually-

Abrowser is at the correct version 153.0.3.
