This time, both aramo and ecne are hit simultaneously. I removed the ayatana-indicator-datetime package on both, which also removed the trisquel meta-package.
You should be able to deactivate Ayatana Indicator Date & Time in Startup Applications (System > Preferences > Personal).
That way you do not need to remove any package.

Thanks for the suggestion. There was a lot of information in https://trisquel.info/fr/forum/ayatana-indicator-datetime-service-takes-all-memory-and-cpu, when I have a bit of time, I will look into it. I guess I should also reproduce this in a vm and make a bug report.
It transpires that you probably need to check the "Show hidden elements" checkbox in Startup Applications to get the ayatana indicators listed, as mentioned in post #20 in that thread.
