Battery percent? [Trisquel Mini]

How can I get the dock apps to show battery percent on my laptop? When I log in, its on the bar on the top, but as soon as I hit enter to log in, my computer switches to the desktop, which doesn't have a battery monitor.
1. Right click on panel
2. Add applet (or configure panel and add applets from there)
3. There should be a battery bar available

You can specify when to "Show battery status in the menu bar" in the "Power" utility (in the "System settings"). It may be set to "Never".
Just left click on the battery indicator; a menu appears that allows one to set the percent and the time remaining (to charge or for completion of recharge).
I think you guys might be talking about some XFCE stuff (I don't have "Power" and "System settings").
But, I got it working. Thanks for replying.
