i downloaded bitcoin and when downloading my system crashed
now when i try to open bitcoin it says error loading blkindex.dat
anyone know how i can fix it

in terminal it says

Pop open a terminal and punch in
mv ~/.bitcoin ~/bitcoin-backup
mkdir ~/.bitcoin
cp ~/bitcoin-backup/wallet.dat ~/.bitcoin/
(You might want to copy/paste to avoid typos.)
