fauilure in bringing http://es.archive.trisquel.info/trisquel/dists/slaine-updates/Release Unable to find expected entry universe/binary-i386/Packages in Meta-index file (malformed Release file?)
Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
Remove the word "universe" from the file /etc/apt/sources.list. I don't
know how to do it using the GUI program responsible for this.
Hi! I did that via root and it still won't update for me. I'm running slaine 64. Here are the errors I received:
W:Failed to fetch http://mirror.fsf.org/trisquel/dists/slaine/Release Unable to find expected entry universe/binary-amd64/Packages in Meta-index file (malformed Release file?)
, W:Failed to fetch http://mirror.fsf.org/trisquel/dists/slaine-updates/Release Unable to find expected entry universe/binary-amd64/Packages in Meta-index file (malformed Release file?)
, W:Failed to fetch http://archive.trisquel.info/trisquel/dists/slaine-security/Release Unable to find expected entry universe/binary-amd64/Packages in Meta-index file (malformed Release file?)
, E:Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
Hope you can help.

Try to change universe to main. The Release file have
main/binary-amd64/Packages entry. Switching to another mirror/repository
won't fix this if you still have universe in /etc/apt/sources.list.
It should look like this:
deb http://mirror.fsf.org/trisquel slaine main
or
deb http://archive.trisquel.info/trisquel slaine main
If you the entries are under /etc/apt/sources.list.d/, better use sudo
synaptic (Settings-> Repositories) or sudo software-properties-gtk.
That did it. Thanks!
Thanks i'v used ubuntu-tweak to remove the words universe and multiverse.
