Como conectarme/detectar automaticamente redes Wifi, Toshiba u505-2006, Trisquel 4.0

Hola a todos! :D
ya casi estoy al 90% con mi laptop, lo siguiente es sobre la redes inalambricas, no puedo detectar/conectarme a redes inalambricas automaticamente, hasta instale Wifi-radar, pero nada!!

mi kernel en taranis es este: 2.6.32-23-generic
tengo el WiFi Radar y el Air-Crack, pero seguimos en las mismas... no creo que no me detecte la tarjeta interna inalambrica! :S, mi bluetooth funciona bien!, aunque no se qué tenga que ver una cosa con la otra xD.

alguna sugerencia?

Revisa la página fsf.org/hardware y busca tu tarjeta wireless. En la consola
debes digitar lscpi -nn para revisar el modelo.

Lo que dice Luís Alberto es buena referencia. Añadiría que es mejor ser más
específico con:

dmesg | grep DEBLOBBED

Si te aparece algo, se confirma que la tarjeta no te da libertad y es un
ataque a la cooperación.

Esta es tu tarjeta de red inalámbrica. Si embargo no veo tu tarjeta en la
lista que te indiqué de la página de la FSF.
http://www.fsf.org/resources/hw/index_html/net/wireless/index_html/cards.htmlProbablemente
usa firmware privativo pero puede ser también que actualizando
el núcleo se haya desarrollado un nuevo software libre para usar esa tarjeta
(aunque esto es dudoso). Por favor copia el contenido de dmesg como te
indiqué y además el resultado de:

uname -a

dmesg | grep DEBLOBBED no muestra nada!, asi que no te preocupes por esa data!.Abril es el nombre de mi maquina, cuando tenga una hija asi le llamare :), ese link es para un kernel que funciona solo para i386??, porque me parecio que ahi lo traia!...

OK. Eso quiere decir que no nte ha eliminado el firmware privativo. No
encuentro por qué no te está funcionando pero creo que es porque el driver
en si ha de ser privativo. Busca otra tarjeta de red que si respete tu
libertad. Es un precio pequeño por ella. Una tarjeta USB puede ser una buena
opción.

Si. Lo siento. Solo hay ese en formato fácil de instalar. Si lo pruebas
también te funcionará aunque sin todas las instrucciones. Pruébalo. Siempre
puedes escoger arrancar con el núcleo original.

Desde una consola escribe

dmesg

Si encuentras el termino *DEBLOBBED* en la seccion de la tarjeta wireless,
entonces no funcionará ya que el firmware/driver no es libre.

siquiera aparece mi tarjeta inalambrica!, pero encontre este link http://ur1.ca/15ow1 seria recomendable instalar esos drivers (es decir, son libres los drivers, porque creo que vienen con el codiigo fuente pero no veo una licencia que restrinja distribuir tu propia version modificada??)

Ten cuidado porque si pueden ser libres pero proporcionar firmware
privativo. Lo mejor es leer las licencias de todos los archivos o dejar eso
a los desarrolladores de Trisquel.

IIRC dentro de las caracteristicas de Linux-libre esta el que no tiene la
capacidad de cargar firmware libre incluso si es compilado.
Esto previene de que accidentalmente se cargue software no libre en el
kernel.

Es curioso (para mí, seguro que tiene su lógica)... cuando instalé Trisquel dudaba con que mi tarjeta wifi funcionase... Había oido que el driver ya estaba en el kernel y que era libre.

El caso es que al pasar el comando&nbsp; "dmesg | grep DEBLOBBED"

Pero la tarjeta funciona perfectamente.... :-D

Esto tambien ha sucedido en el pasado con tarjetas de ethernet, que traen consigo firmware no libre, pero felizmente funcionan sin tener que usarlo.Es el caso del driver e100
