DEAD sd card - suddenly no contact.

I have an sd card that suddenly went dead. A video camera and two different computers (wit different OS) do not recognise it when it is inserted to the otherwise functioning readers.
I have searched a bit but I only seem to find suggestions for cards that are some how corrupted but accessible - maybe this has a good reason!
Any one with a good advise (other than throwing it out)?
I've had it happen to me. A phone SD card suddenly went corrupt. There was no way to initialize or reformat it let alone reveal the contents.
All flash memory becomes useless after a certain number of writes. If it was a reasonably old SD card, that might have happened to it. You might just have to recycle and replace it. (Note: always offer electronics up for recycling rather than throwing them away. Best Buy will take them.)
Depends on where you live. Some of us are Europeans.
In Finland, SER is the way to dispose of and recycle electronic devices and parts.

Gigantti will take scrap electronics.
i agree with tha. i had a microsd for a raspberry pi which is used 24/7 and it died after 1.5 years of use. I do not know if my country has laws for e-waste disposal but I think *they just throw electronic waste in the garbage and be taken to junk shops
